To ensure your sign will endure the outdoor conditions= as much as possible your Buzz Art sign has been made using the following:

Ø Offers excellent resistance to out door conditions

Ø 3 coats are applied

Ø Red cedar will affect most metals and as such brass is used. As well brass does = not rust or corrode when used out doors.
Ø If you need to use custom hardware on the cottages signs make sure to use only brass hardware

How to add
hardware to your sign
When using screws, hocks or nails on your sign make = sure to do the following:
Ø&nb= sp; Predrill the hole to prevent splitting or cr= acking of the wood.
Ø&nb= sp; Try not to put a hole to close to the edge
Ø&nb= sp; Make sure to use only brass as other metals often react with red cedar
Ø&nb= sp; Use of power tools to screw should be done w= ith precaution. The red cedar used is = VERY software and a power drill will quickly sink a screw deep into your sign. The best depth is with the head of the = screw flush with the surface of the sign. Do not put the head in deep enough that fresh wood is exposed. If you must use power tools to put the = screw in, it is recommend that the last few twist be done with using a manual scr= ew driver, this way you can get it just right.

Ø&nb= sp; Install long screws in wall as level as possible.
Ø&nb= sp; Hang sign.
Ø&nb= sp; Determine which side needs to go up/down.
Ø&nb= sp; Back the appropriate screw out about 1.5” and bend the screw.

Screw the screw back in stopping when tight
enough and with the screw in the higher or lower position as required by the
signs installation.
Preventative
maintenance
We all know how strong Mother Nature and the sun are. While Buzz Art has done every= thing they can to resist the effects of Mother Nature and the sun, there are additional steps you can do to prolong the life of your sign. The following are suggestions on how to= help prolong the beauty of your sign.
Ø&nb= sp; If the cottage is abandoned during the winter why not winterize the sign. Put it= in your pillow case and when you return in the spring hang it up again. This should extend the life of the signs beauty by over 50%. Make sure when= you are winterizing the sign you put it somewhere where the sun will not hit it inside the cottage, store it in a dark dry location.
Ø&nb= sp; If possible place the sign in a location whi= ch minimizes the time is sees direct sun light. While UV protectant is in the urethane it is like sun screen it only minimizes the effects of the sun. = As such
Cleaning of=
sign
If your sign gets dirty you can wash it with water and a little mild soap. It i= s not recommend to use any chemicals or clean products. Recommend cleaning is to lightly spray = with a garden house and then wipe of with a damp rag.
